Walking Weekend

10th - 12th September 2010, Rookhow Centre, Grizedale, Lake District

Our next weekend will be in Cumbria – Rookhow Centre, Rusland, Grizedale’ Cumbria’ South Lakeland’ LA12 8LA:

As usual we will meet there on Friday evening and repair to a local hostelry.  On Saturday there will be a reasonably long walk and then back to the hostel for a well disserved cup of tea, shower and then drinky and meal! Breakfasts will catered for by ourselves and for dinner Saturday caterers have been arranged. On Sunday we will have a shorter walk allowing us to return home after lunch. Pillow, pillow case and bottom sheet are provided but you must also bring a warm sleeping bag (and towel).

 

The charge is GBP60.00 per person (GBP67.50 for non-members) and includes: bed and breakfast for two nights, dinner Saturday evening, coffee & tea. Not included: drinks, packed lunch for Saturday, and evening meal Friday.

The weekend is open to members of CARC and friends or partners. CARC annual membership is GBP20.00 and is used for the admin of the club. CARC is a member of the BMC (British Mountaineering Council). Hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Members and guests shall be aware of and accept these risks and agree to be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Please refer to CARC website.

 

Boots and mountain walking gear essential. Please bring own packed lunch for Saturday. All participants will receive final details by e-mail.
